THE ROCK HOTEL GOES THE ‘WHOLE HOG’ FOR NEW YEAR’S EVE WEDDING

A HUDDERSFIELD COUPLE ARE SET TO WELCOME IN 2012 BY TYING THE KNOT

Huddersfield couple, Dave Small and Michelle Norledge will be celebrating the New Year in an unforgettable way – by getting married.

The couple, who got engaged last Christmas Day, after being together for over two years, chose this memorable day to tie the knot as a novel way to see in 2012.

Surrounded by family and friends at The Rock Hotel, Halifax the couple will celebrate their marriage over a feast which is particularly close at Dave’s heart, as a farmer of rare breed and commercial pigs.

Dave, who owns Farnley Feasts in Huddersfield will be supplying a Gloucestershire Old Spot for the wedding breakfast and has worked closely with The Rock’s Head Chef, Ban Varley to create a menu with the wow-factor.

Ben said: “Dave’s clearly knows a thing or two about good quality pork so we’ve created a bespoke menu which reflects this, as well showcasing the meat in different ways – almost a celebration of pork!

“On the day guests will be tucking in to canapés of sausages, followed by sharing platters of rillettes of pork, cheek and crispy ears. For the main, guests will be enjoying porchetta stuffed pork loin in lemon and garlic and in the evening, you guessed it – a hog roast!”

The couple booked the venue after eating in The Rock’s restaurant last New Year’s Eve. Dave said: “We’ve got a great relationship with the team here at The Rock and we’ve always been impressed with the standard of the food. Working closely with Ben has allowed us to put our own stamp on the day. I’m sure our guests are going to love it!”
